The New Providence Historical Society initiated the Graveyard Tours for the New Providence Tricentennial. Unfortunately, all plans for celebrations in town were halted due to Covid. We resumed our tours as soon as possible and have had well over 200+ people attend our tours. We run tours in the Spring and Fall.

The tours focus on the history of the Presbyterian Church and some of the founding families of New Providence who rest in the Graveyard. We speak about some interesting stories relating to Reverend Elmer, the Mulford family, the Crane Family, the Doty family and the mystery headstone. There is also a ghost story or two and some interesting cemetery facts. At the end of the tour, we speak about how the Town of Turkey becomes the Borough of New Providence.
